OVERVIEW AND APPROACH
Platform to simplify video integration and enhance developer experiences 📹
FastPix, an innovative beta-stage startup, is dedicated to simplifying video integration, enabling developers to build video experiences effortlessly through unified APIs that accelerate time to value and enhance customer satisfaction. During my internship, I contributed to the design of their website, focusing on creating a user-friendly interface that supports diverse revenue models, including subscriptions, ads, and transactions. I was involved in finalizing the overall layout, color scheme and feel of the website. Throughout the project, I worked closely with the design team and the COO of FastPix. The design process was iterative, with continuous feedback and refinements made at each stage. This collaborative approach ensured that the final product was both visually compelling and highly functional, meeting the needs of both developers and end-users.
PROJECT STATEMENT
The challenge was to create a user-friendly interface that simplifies video experiences for developers while supporting diverse revenue models. My role as a UX design intern involved conducting market research, refining layouts and iconography, and developing a cohesive color palette and design theme. The goal was to align the platform’s design with FastPix’s mission to empower developers, streamline their workflows, and ultimately enhance user satisfaction.
TARGET USERS AND DEMOGRAPHICS
FastPix targets a diverse audience of developers and content creators who seek to integrate video functionalities into their applications effortlessly. This includes tech-savvy developers working in entertainment, media, and digital content industries who require robust and scalable solutions for video streaming. Additionally, the platform caters to businesses looking to leverage video for various revenue streams, such as subscription services, advertising, and transactional content.
USER RESEARCH
Comprehensive user research was essential to ensure the design met the needs and expectations of its diverse audience. The research aimed to understand the requirements of developers and content creators who would use the platform, focusing on their pain points, preferences, and behaviors.

To better understand and address the needs of our target audience, I developed a user persona. This persona represents the key demographics and motivations of our potential users, guiding the design process to ensure the website and product model resonate with their values, behaviors, and lifestyle choices.

MARKET RESEARCH
Market research played a crucial role in the development of FastPix's model, ensuring that the design and features aligned with the needs and expectations of our target audience. The research focused on understanding the market landscape, user behavior, and competitive environment, providing actionable insights that informed our design decisions. By analyzing these factors, we were able to tailor the platform to meet the specific demands of developers and content creators.
Competitive Analysis
One of the key components of our market research was a comprehensive competitive analysis. This type of research involved a deep dive into existing video integration solutions to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and areas where FastPix could differentiate itself. I conducted detailed competitive analysis of API Video and MUX Video based on the factors of functionality, analytics and overall benefits of the products.
Findings and Impact
The competitive analysis revealed several opportunities for FastPix to differentiate itself. For instance, we identified that many competing platforms had overly complex integration processes, which frustrated developers and led to higher churn rates. In response, we prioritized creating a more intuitive and streamlined user experience for FastPix, focusing on clear documentation and an easy-to-navigate interface.

First Prototype
Building the wireframes for the FastPix OTT platform was a collaborative and iterative process rooted in the insights gathered from extensive market research and stakeholder brainstorming sessions. We began by translating key findings from our competitive analysis and user research into design concepts that addressed identified pain points, such as simplifying the integration process and enhancing user customization. Through multiple rounds of sketching and wireframing, we focused on creating a user-centric interface that balanced functionality with ease of use. Each iteration was refined based on team feedback and usability considerations.
